Appert's Next Step: Letting Go

TROY — Like parenting, the hardest part of coaching can be learning how to let go.
RPI coach Seth Appert says he has to do just that with his hockey team. The culture he’s cultivated around the program in his five years there is “90 to 95 percent” in place. But the last piece is critical.
“I run our program,” he said, “but I want our seniors to run our team.”
