Blackhawks Summon Pirri
ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced that the National Hockey League club has recalled former Rensselaer standout Brandon Pirri from loan from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs. The center arrived in Rockford on loan from Chicago on Oct. 4 and did not skate in any of the IceHogs preseason contests.
A second round pick (#59 overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Pirri made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks against Detroit on Oct. 9, 2010.
Pirri made his AHL debut with the IceHogs on Oct. 10, 2010. The Toronto, Ontario native led all Rockford rookies and set an IceHogs AHL single-season rookie record with 43 points, in addition to tying a rookie mark with 31 assists.
