TROY — It’s been a while since Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute really jumped on an opponent in the first period; like
almost 14 months. The Engineers have a chance to do so tonight (7)
at Brown University, which has trouble keeping the puck out of its
net in recent games.
Matter of fact, the last time the Engineers skated onto the ice at
Brown’s Meehan Auditorium — Dec. 8, 2008 — they
put up a 4-spot in the first period en route to a 7-2 victory.
They’d love to do something similar tonight and get some
momentum into Saturday night’s game at No. 6-ranked Yale.
