Cavosie Returns to Europe

Former Rensselaer standout Marc Cavosie, who spent the 2006-07 with Rögle of the Swedish Elite League, is returning to Europe as the Albany, New York native has signed a contract with HK Jesenice (Austria) for the 2010-11 season, the team announced.

Cavosie split the 2009-10 campaign between the Lake Erie Monsters and Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL), and the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). He appeared in 18 AHL contests – 16 with Lake Erie and two with Albany – compiling three assists.

As a member of the Reading Royals, Cavosie amassed 16 goals and 35 assists in 54 games, including the postseason. During the regular-season, Cavosie tallied 35 points, including nine goals, in 38 games. He accumulated seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 16 playoff contests.

The former Engineers forward started the 2008-09 season with the River Rats on a PTO and tallied four assists in 11 games, before signing with the Binghamton Senators and totaling 23 points (10-13-23) in 64 games.

Minnesota’s fourth round pick (99th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry draft, Cavosie enjoyed three productive seasons in Troy from 1999 through 2002. He scored 48 goals and assisted on 61 tallies in 97 contests. Cavosie’s best offensive campaign was 2001-02 when he registered 23 goals and 27 assists in 36 games.
