TROY — Beat Colgate on the road.
It’s been “almost a decade” since Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute has accomplished that feat, but that’s
the Engineers quest tonight as the face the biggest regular-season
game of the four-year Seth Appert era.
Both RPI and Colgate are 10-8-2 in ECAC Hockey games and if the
Engineers can win, they will block out the Raiders from fourth
place. Then, if sixth-place St. Lawrence (8-7-5), winless in its
past six (0-3-3) loses either of its (home) games with 11th-place
Dartmouth (6-12-2, 8-17-2) or eighth-place Harvard (7-10-3,
7-17-3), RPI will finish in fourth.
