Engineers Still a Work in Progress
TROY — There were certainly some hiccups, some concerns,
during the third period on Saturday night, but Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute’s two victories over the weekend
— and the Engineers’ five-game unbeaten string since
their season-opening defeat — certainly are encouraging.
“We’ve still got a lot of work to do,” says RPI
coach Seth Appert, but at 3-1-2, the Engineers show promise.
With all due respect to Bentley, RIT and Niagara, the Engineers
schedule certainly gets much tougher from hereon; they play
high-scoring rival and 16th-ranked Union on neutral ice —
Lake Placid’s Herb Brooks 1980 Arena on Saturday.
