RPI Looks to Merriam to Fill the Pipes

TROY – Unless No. 1 goaltender Allen York makes a miraculous
recovery from his ankle sprain over the next couple days, freshman
Bryce Merriam will be the man for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
this weekend.
Some RPI fans worry that the little-used Merriam won’t be
able to overcome the pressure when the Engineers host Quinnipiac
and Princeton this weekend in a pair of crucial ECAC Hockey
games.
They needn’t be so concerned, says Rensselaer coach Seth
Appert.
