A Lot on the Line for D'Amigo

LONDON, ONT.—Jerry D’Amigo is taking a chance by quitting school to turn pro. Dale Mitchell might be down to his last chance to make the pros.

But the Leafs thought highly enough of both to place them on the top line for the first game of rookie camp, with Nazem Kadri at centre.

“It was a good experience,” said D’Amigo, who scored what stood up as the game-winner in the Leafs’ 6-3 exhibition win Saturday night. “First game with a Maple Leafs uniform on. (Our line) had a lot of chemistry, worked the puck well and had a couple of opportunities.”
