RPI Hopes to Reverse Cycle with Rival Union

The following article appeared in the November 12 issue of the Troy Record.

TROY — Losing to rival Union hasn’t become habit for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s hockey team, but it certainly has become frequent in recent seasons.

The teams clash this weekend — the 12th-ranked Dutchmen (1-0-1 in ECACH Hockey, 6-1-3 overall) and the No. 18 Engineers (1-1-0, 4-2-3) — tonight at Messa Rink and Saturday at Houston Field House (both at 7) with the Engineers hoping to end a long losing skein to the Dutchmen.

Union has won the past six meetings of the teams in ECACH play, is 10-1-1 in the past 12 league games, hasn’t lost in its past seven trips (6-0-1) to Houston Field House and is 12-3-4 in the past 19 meetings of the teams.
