Cut to the Chase for RPI's Offense

TROY — So much has been said, printed and lamented about stars Brandon Pirri and Jerry D’Amigo leaving the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hockey program after just one season — and rightly so — that it sometimes seems Chase Polacek has almost been forgotten.

The Engineers still have ECAC Hockey’s defending scoring champion. The senior center from Edina, Minn. tallied 26 goals and 26 assists last season.

Polacek doesn’t seek and almost always deflects personal acclaim but he admit to feeling a bit slighted, even though he chose to express that from a team standpoint.
