RPI Looking for Points on the Road
The following article appeared in the November 5 issue of the Troy Record.
TROY — Last season, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
started 3-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play.
That fact helped the Engineers after they won just four of their
next 12 league games (4-6-2), as they were still able to finish
with a winning record at 10-9-3, even though they fell three points
short of finishing among the top four in the 12-team league. Those
four slots carry a bye into the quarterfinals of the league
playoffs.
League play opens this weekend and the 18th-ranked Engineers,
3-1-3, travel to Dartmouth tonight and to Harvard on Saturday night
(both at 7).
