ROCKFORD — Brandon Pirri, one of the younger Rockford IceHogs at 19, hopes to be the grizzled veteran on another team soon.
The first-year IceHogs center has been invited to the
Hockey Canada evaluation camp. If he makes the team, he could miss
at least a month of IceHogs games beginning in mid-December. The
International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships
begin Dec. 26 in Buffalo.
“Playing for your country is a real honor,” Pirri said
after practice Tuesday. “At camp, I’ll play my hardest,
work hard and do whatever I have to do to make the
team.”
