Martin Garners Weekly Honor

ROCHESTER, MI -- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Bloomington goaltender Andrew Martin, a former Rensselaer standout, has been named the IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 28.

Martin finished the week with a 2-1-0-0 record in three games played, making his first start after missing the last 19 games after being sidelined with an injury since early February. He completed the week with eight goals against in the three games, giving him a 2.69 goals against average. He made a total of 77 saves, including making 31 against the Icehawks Sunday, posting a .906 save percentage for the week. The 27-year-old Camberley, England native is currently ninth among IHL goaltenders in goals against average with a 3.07 average in 30 games played.
