TROY -- In December 2001 RPI won its annual holiday hockey
tournament. The Engineers haven't won it since.
Seven tournaments have come and gone, and, every year the
Engineers watch another team dance with their trophy on their home
ice. In the past seven years, RPI is 2-10-2 record in its holiday
tournament, which was moved to Thanksgiving weekend in 2004.
RPI gets another chance, starting tonight. The Engineers will play
Bentley in the second game at 7. Union and Lake Superior State will
meet at 4 p.m. The winners will play for the championship Saturday
in the longest running in-season tournament in the nation (every
year since 1951).
