TROY — Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has endured four
excruciating overtime losses this season and unlike pro hockey,
teams get no standings point for extra-session defeats.
While most of the Engineers will say none of the OT defeats hurts
more than any other, the one at Clarkson on Jan. 24 certainly
stands out.
The Engineers were leading that game, 3-2, with 4:40 remaining and
were on their way to a victory that would have given them a 4-1-1
record in a six-game span and would have evened their ECAC Hockey
record at 6-6-1.
