He didn't cause much of a ripple when the Maple Leafs drafted
him in the sixth round last June, but Jerry D'Amigo made enough of
an impression to land a coveted spot with Team USA heading into the
world junior hockey championships in rosters that were announced
Wednesday.
"It's quite an honour to be picked for this team," said D'Amigo, a
native of Birmingham, N.Y., and currently enrolled at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute.
The winger wasn't giving away any secrets when he suggested the
Americans have already circled their New Year's Eve date with
Canada as the key round-robin game.
