GLENS FALLS — As professional hockey returns to Glens Falls
after a three-year hiatus, many of the players on the Adirondack
Phantoms’ training camp roster are setting foot in the
Adirondack region for the first time.
Not so for Andrew Lord, who spent four years in Troy playing
college hockey for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and who is
excited to be part of the team bringing professional hockey back to
a nearby town.
“They love it,” he said of the fans in the community.
“It’s a great town. I have a couple buddies who played
for Albany last year, and they had some games up here and said
it’s almost a full house a lot of the nights. They definitely
love their hockey. I know I heard a lot of things from back in the
day when they had their old team, and it’s exciting to come
to this rink. We’re looking forward to it.”
