TROY — Seth Appert doesn’t get any comfort, any
confidence, from being such a big favorite this weekend against
Sacred Heart and American International College of Atlantic
Hockey.
After all, Appert’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Engineers are 0-3-1 in their past four games against teams from
Atlantic Hockey, which is permitted to extend only 13½
scholarships, below the full allotment of D-I hockey scholarships
permitted by the NCAA. Some AH teams have offered even fewer.
The 1-2-1 Engineers will host Sacred Heart tonight tonight and AIC
on Saturday night (each at 7). Both visiting teams open their
seasons this weekend — AIC tonight at Union.
