COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rensselaer incoming freshman Jerry D'Amigo (Binghamton, N.Y.) is among a group of 43 players from 18 states who have been invited to the 2009 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y., which runs from Aug. 7-15, as announced today by USA Hockey. Participating players are candidates for the 2010 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2010 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, from Dec. 26, 2009-Jan. 5, 2010, in Saskatoon and Regina, Sask.

The camp will feature practices, three games between the split U.S. squads and four games against Russia.

"We look forward to a competitive camp," said Jim Johannson, general manager of the 2010 U.S. National Junior Team and assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. "While we've invited 43 players to the camp, there are additional players who will be evaluated as the 2009-10 season begins, particularly in the 1992 birth year. I'm pleased to be working alongside Tim Taylor in the selection process of the team's player personnel."

Highlighting the list of invitees are 12 players from the gold medal-winning 2009 U.S. National Under-18 Team, including forwards D'Amigo, Ryan Bourque (Boxford, Mass.), Kevin Lynch (Grosse Point, Mich.), Jeremy Morin (Auburn, N.Y.), Kyle Palmieri (Montvale, N.J.), Kenny Ryan (Franklin Village, Mich.), Drew Shore (Denver, Colo.) and A.J. Treais (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.); defensemen Cam Fowler (Farmington Hills, Mich.), Philip Samuelsson (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and William Wrenn (Anchorage, Alaska); and goaltender Jack Campbell (Port Huron, Mich.).

All practice sessions are open to the public and tickets to the international games are available through the Olympic Regional Development Authority (orda.org) in Lake Placid.
