BRANDON -- The Tampa Bay Lightning are involved in talks with former NHL All-Star Adam Oates about joining the organization in a coaching capacity.

Oates attended the team's prospect camp at the Ice Sports Forum on Wednesday and spent time talking to Tampa Bay head coach Rick Tocchet and general manager Brian Lawton.

Lawton confirmed the team was speaking to Oates about a possible coaching/consultant position working with the power play units for both the Lightning and their American Hockey League affiliate in Norfolk, Va., throughout the season, although nothing has been formalized at this time.
