Where are they now? Joe Juneau
The following article featuring former Rensselaer standout Joe Juneau appeared May 10 on the Montreal Canadiens Web site.
The Canadiens didn't pile up 100 years of history without
the blood, sweat and tears of the over 750 players to have ever
worn the uniform. From the likes of Donald Audette to Zarley
Zalapski,
there are former Habs scattered all over the world. Although many
hardcore Canadiens fans can rattle off the career accomplishments
of hundreds of their old heroes, the question remains: what are
these guys up to today? Today's guest: Joe Juneau.
A gritty left winger who spent nine seasons with the Canadiens
from 1983-84 to 1991-92, McPhee helped lead the Habs to the Stanley
Cup in 1986. The Sydney, NS native who represented the Habs at the
1989 NHL All-Star Game has been a busy man since retiring from the
game following the 1993-94 season. Find out for yourself!
Where do you live now?
I've been living in Kuujjuaq for the past two years.
What are you doing now?
I'm coordinator of a youth program that focuses on ice hockey. The
program was put in place to help reduce the school dropout and
crime rates in Nunavik.
