Brian Pothier hasn't played a live hockey game since Jan. 3, 2008,
when he suffered a concussion against the Boston Bruins.
The Washington Capitals defenseman, on a conditioning assignment
to the Hershey Bears, is scheduled to return to full battle
Saturday at Toronto.
"I'm just trying to get back into some type of game shape,"
Pothier said Thursday. "I can skate all day and shoot and do all
these things. But when there's a guy actually pressuring you, it
changes everything. My objective is to come back and feel what it's
like to get hit again and make a read and D-zone coverage. We'll
just take it day by day and see how I progress.
