The Record
SCHENECTADY — Ben Barr was told to glance over to the far
faceoff circle at Union College’s Messa Rink, just inside the
east blue line.
He chuckled. He knew why.
It was there on March 8, 2003 that the then Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute junior forward took two passes from Nick Economakos off
virtually the same spot on those sideboards and scored two
short-handed goals to lift the Engineers to a playoff
series-winning, 3-2 victory over the Dutchmen.
