Seth Appert has finished 11th, tied for 10th and tied for eighth
in the 12-team ECAC Hockey conference during his three seasons as
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hockey coach.
With an increased talent level, created by freshmen Jerry
D’Amigo, Brandon Pirri, Marty O’Grady and C.J. Lee, and
a healthy sophomore Mike Bergin, Appert and the Engineers have some
high hopes for a dramatic rise in the standings this year. They
open ECACH play this weekend, hosting defending champion Yale,
arguably the best team in the league, and Brown, which will likely
finish last or next to last for the fifth straight season.
So, Appert was asked, “you will be disappointed if you
finish no better than what place?”
