Healey Leaves Mora
STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Mora IK (Sweden) announced Tuesday that it has released former Rensselaer forward Eric Healey.
"(Eric) will not play with us more this year, but Eric and his
agent are looking for new clubs," said sports manager Arto
Sirviö.
The 33-year-old American ranked among the team's top scorers,
registering 10 goals and 15 assists.
Prior to joining Mora IK this past summer, Healey played eight seasons in the American Hockey League, most recently for the Lake Erie Monsters. In 74 games with Lake Erie in 2007-08, the Hull, Mass. native scored 22 goals and assisted on 36 goals.
He also played two NHL games for the Boston Bruins in 2005-06, but did not score any goals.
As a collegian, Healey played 143 games for the Engineers from 1994 through 1998. He scored 82 career goals and added 86 assists. He most productive offensive campaign was 1996-97 when he scored 30 goals and registered 26 assists.
