Academic Honor Bestowed on Lord

TROY, N.Y. -- Rensselaer senior forward Andrew Lord has
been selected to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1
Men's At-Large Team. As a University Division First-Team
selection, Lord is now eligible for National Academic
All-America consideration.
A native of West Vancouver, B.C., Lord carried a 3.99 cumulative
grade point average as a management major. A member of Epsilon
Delta Sigma Management Honor Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma
International Honor Society - Recognizing Business Excellence, he
was the team's Scholar-Athlete Award recipient three times. The
winner of the Barbara Landgraf Award, Lord was a multiple Dean's
List honoree and a three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
selection. A finalist for the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the
Year Award, he volunteered for a number of organizations, including
HERO - which helps inter-city children get into hockey - and Relay
for Life.
On the ice this season, Lord was an assistant captain who scored
six goals with 10 assists. He helped the program to its second
straight Governor's Cup title and a spot in the national rankings
for eight straight weeks.
