VOORHEES, N.J. -- Kirk MacDonald compared his past week to the movie "Planes, Trains & Automobiles."
The former RPI captain, who expects to be in the lineup for Game 3 at Wachovia Center, has endured in the past eight days three bus rides totaling 23 hours and a plane trip from Florida to Albany. Tonight the well-traveled MacDonald makes his playoff debut.
MacDonald, skating with the ECHL's Florida Everblades, played a game Saturday, April 12, in Columbia, S.C., a 10-hour bus ride away. He was called up earlier this week and flew to Albany before busing to Philadelphia with the Rats on Friday.
