TROY -- Without a victory in more than a month, the RPI hockey team could justifiably be on the brink of a midseason breakdown. However, that wasn't exactly the atmosphere in the Engineers' locker room Wednesday after a spirited practice for home-and-home games this weekend against archrival Union.
"When you haven't won in awhile, you're desperate for wins," RPI captain Jake Morissette said. "We want to get a win here, but there's no panic, that's for sure. We still believe in ourselves."
The Engineers seemingly were rolling along in coach Seth Appert's second season, at 8-5-3 overall and in mid-pack at 3-2-2 in the ECAC Hockey League after upsetting nationally ranked Harvard on Dec. 4.
