River Rats Release Cavosie
ALBANY, NY -- The Albany River Rats announced today that former
Rensselaer forward Marc Cavosie has been released from his 25-game
professional tryout contract.
Cavosie, 27, recorded four assists while playing in 11 games for
the River Rats this year. The Cohoes, New York native originally
joined Albany during the 2007-08 season, signing a PTO on February
26, 2008. He scored 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 16 games for
the Rats and then appeared in all seven of Albany’s 2008
Calder Cup Playoff games. This season Cavosie attended
Albany’s AHL training camp on a free agent tryout and was
signed to a 25-game PTO on October 8.
Albany head coach Jeff Daniels cited roster numbers as the
reason.
"It gives him a chance to look around and maybe hook on somewhere
else," Daniels said. "The way this game is, you never know how it's
going to work out. We could be banged up and looking for somebody
again."
