Maple Leafs Add Townshend to Staff
TORONTO -- Cliff Fletcher, General Manager of the Toronto Maple
Leafs, announced Tuesday that the team has named former Rensselaer
forward Graeme Townshend as skating coach.
Townshend, 42, spent the past four seasons with the San Jose Sharks
as the team's skating coach under the guidance of Ron Wilson and
his staff. Townshend played 45 career NHL games (1989-94) for
Boston, the New York Islanders and Ottawa collecting three goals
and seven assists. Both Hirsch and Townshend will work with players
on both the Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies, as well as with the
organizations drafted prospects in North America.
