Trenton Inks Henkel

TRENTON, N.J. -- The Trenton Devils, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils, today announced the signing of former Rensselaer forward Jim Henkel.  The announcement was made by Trenton Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello.  As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

A native of Hazlet, NJ, Henkel led all T-Devils in goals (23) and points (47, tied with Eric Castonguay) during the 2007-08 season.  The center returns for his fourth straight season with Trenton.  The 29-year-old was the sole veteran to skate with the Devils for the entire season, serving as the team's alternate captain.

Henkel has skated in both the ECHL and AHL during his career, and won the 2003 Kelly Cup during his rookie year with the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.  The 6-2, 190-pounder was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the eighth round (#217 overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
