Healey Headed to Sweden
STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Former Rensselaer forward Eric Healey will play for Mora IK this season, the Swedish ice hockey club announced Tuesday.
The 33-year-old American has played eight seasons in the American Hockey League, most recently for the Lake Erie Monsters. In 74 games with Lake Erie in 2007-08, the Hull, Mass. native scored 22 goals and assisted on 36 goals.
He also played two NHL games for the Boston Bruins in 2005-06, but did not score any goals.
As a collegian, Healey played 143 games for the Engineers from 1994 through 1998. He scored 82 career goals and added 86 assists. He most productive offensive campaign was 1996-97 when he scored 30 goals and registered 26 assists.
