Feature: His Patience Paying Off

STEINBACH -- After attending the New York Rangers' midsummer prospects training camp, forward Oren Eizenman had a contract offer on the table.

The undrafted 23-year-old from Toronto surprised his agent and a few others by not jumping at that first opportunity. Instead, he opted for a tryout with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and AHL's Manitoba Moose and so far, his instincts are proving something.

"I didn't think that organization (the Rangers) was the right fit," Eizenman said Tuesday night after counting one of Manitoba's two goals in a 6-2 pre-season defeat against the University of Manitoba Bisons at the T.G. Smith Centre. "Nothing against them, they have a great organization and I appreciated the opportunity but sometimes you get a feeling where you fit.
