Reading Secures Services of Cavosie
READING, PA -- The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the
Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester
Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that the
organization has acquired former Rensselaer forward Marc
Cavosie from the Columbia Inferno.
Cavosie (6'0/180) (26), a sixth-year pro from Albany, New York,
scored two goals and assisted on four others in seventeen games for
the Inferno this season. Last year, Cavosie, a fourth round pick of
the Minnesota Wild in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, played 27 games for
Rogle BK in the Swedish Allsvenskan and had six assists.
Cavosie, who played his college hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute (R.P.I.), was a member of the 2003 Houston Aeros' team
that won the American Hockey League's Calder Cup. In his final
season at RPI, Cavosie was selected as the Eastern College Athletic
Conference Player of the Year and a Hobey Baker Finalist (award
given to top NCAA player in men's ice hockey) after a season in
which he racked up 50 points (23g-27a) in 36 games.
It is expected that Cavosie will be in the lineup when the Royals
return to action on Friday night against the Dayton Bombers at the
E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
