Martin Signs Contract with New Mexico
RIO RANCHO, N.M. -- New Mexico Scorpions new head coach Randy
Murphy was busy his first official day on the job.
Immediately after being announced, the second youngest head coach
in the Central Hockey League, signed former Rensselaer goaltender
Andrew Martin.
Martin has played in the CHL the past three seasons with
Bossier-Shreveport, the Texas Brahmas and most recently the Wichita
Thunder. The Scorpions put their eyes on the 24 year old
after a 53 save performance against them last March 10.
"Andrew is a young goalie with tremendous potential," said
Murphy. "We saw him last season play a phenomenal game
against us. He is a very athletic goalie."
