Eizenman, Farynuk Named to ECHL All-Star Team
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Former Rensselaer standouts Oren Eizenman and
Brad Farynuk have been named to the National Conference roster for
the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by
Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light, the ECHL
announced today.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton
Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game
presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will
be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase
Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on
Jan. 22.
Eizenman, a center, leads Fresno this season with 14 goals,
which is tied for fourth among ECHL rookies entering Friday's
games, while his 23 points are tied for 10th among first-year
players, and tied with Jarrett Konkle for the Falcons' team
lead.
All-Star Game host Stockton has three players,
including defenseman Farynuk. Farynuk, who is under contract
to Springfield of the AHL, leads Stockton defensemen with nine
assists and 11 points in 22 games.
Farynuk said he expects a large, loud crowd and believes it will affect the game.
"This is awesome, and it's an honor to go with these guys and play at our place,"said Farynuk, the team captain. "Traditionally all-star games are pretty breezy, but it can get pretty intense in here. I think it will be a very competitive atmosphere."
There are 12 rookies on the National Conference and only four of the 21 players have ever been selected to an ECHL All-Star Game.
