Eizenman Heads West to Fresno

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has agreed to terms with former Rensselaer forward Oren Eizenman for the 2007-08 season.

The 22-year-old enters the pro ranks after a standout career at R.P.I. where he tallied 37 goals and added 62 assists for 99 points in 129 games. He enjoyed his best season as a junior, notching 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points in 37 games, which tied him for ninth in league scoring. Eizenman was an ECACHL All-Academic Team member in both his junior and senior seasons, as a senior earned R.P.I.'s Community Service Award, and in his freshman season was named to the ECACHL All-Rookie Team.

"Oren is that first-year player that you know will make an impact," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "His hockey sense is his strength, and he's an offensive centerman who is good on faceoffs."

The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Falcons' jersey.
