Quinnipiac men's ice hockey continues ECAC Hockey play this weekend when it travels to Hanover, N.H. to take on Dartmouth at Thompson Arena on Friday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will then head to Cambridge, Mass. to face Harvard at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center on Saturday, Jan. 13 in a midday game that can be seen live on NESN at 3:30 p.m.

THE OPPONENTS
ALL-TIME VS. DARTMOUTH
• Friday night's meeting between Quinnipiac and Dartmouth will be the 31st time the two teams have clashed, with the Bobcats owning a 20-8-2 record all-time against the Big Green.
• The two teams skated to a 0-0 tie when they met earlier this season, on Dec. 2, 2017.
• Quinnipiac is 6-6-1 all-time at Thompson Arena, including victories in their last two games, and four of their last five on Dartmouth's home ice.
• In the last 13 games of the series, since the second half of the 2011-12 season, Quinnipiac is 11-1-1.
 
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
•Dartmouth enters the weekend at 5-9-2 overall and 3-5-1 in ECAC Hockey, good for ninth in the league standings.
• Dartmouth is 3-1-1 in its last five games and are coming off a 6-5 overtime win at home against RPI on Saturday, Jan. 6.
• Kevan Kilistof and Corey Kalk have both accumulated a team-high nine points, with Kilistof scoring four goals and assisting on five more while Kalk's six assists, to go-along with three goals, lead the team.
• Devin Buffalo has logged the most time in net for Dartmouth and carries a 5-5-1 record with a .905 save percentage and a 3.04 GAA.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST HARVARD
•Quinnipiac and Harvard have met 31 times, with the Bobcats hosting a 13-14-4 record in the all-time series.
• Harvard has won three-straight games between the teams, including a 6-2 win in Hamden on Dec. 1, 2017.
• The Bobcats are 3-10-1 all-time in Cambridge.
 
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
• Harvard's heads into the weekend with a record of 7-6-2 overall and 6-3-1 in ECAC Hockey, good for fourth place in the league standings.
• The Crimson opened the year at 2-5-1 through their first eight games but have gone 5-1-1 in its last seven and enter the weekend on a four-game (3-0-1) unbeaten streak.
• Ryan Donato leads Harvard in goals (14) and points (22) while Lewis Zerter-Gossage and Adam Fox have both tallied a team-high 10 assists to date.
• In goal, this week's ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week Merrick Madsen is 5-5-2 with a 2.17 GAA and a .923 save percentage.

• After its games at Dartmouth and Harvard on Jan. 12-13, the Bobcats head to Arizona State on Jan. 19-20.

GAME NOTES
PILING UP THE HARDWARE
• Andrew Shortridge had an incredible weekend in which he garnered NCAA Men's Ice Hockey First Star of the Week and ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week honors.
• Shortridge posted a shutout in in the Bobcats' 5-0 victory against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17. The second-year Bobcat followed with another shutout in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over rival Yale on Saturday, Nov. 18.
• Shortridge is the first goalie in the nation to post back-to-back shutouts in a weekend series this season.
• Shortridge was also the first Quinnipiac goalie to record back-to-back shutouts since Michael Garteig against Yale on Dec. 4, 2015 and Brown on Dec. 5, 2015.
• With a 21-save shutout against UConn, Shortridge recorded his fourth shutout of the season and also became the seventh goalie in program history to record five shutouts for his career.
 
IN THE BOOKS
• Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) had a career-high four points (three goals, one assist) in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17, while his three goals gave him his third hat trick of his career.
• Smith's four goals in eight ECAC Hockey games leads Quinnipiac.
• Smith's hat trick was the 31st in Quinnipiac NCAA Division I era.
• Smith's feat made him one of two players, along with Brandon Wong, to record a hat trick against the same team twice in his career; Smith's hat trick was his second against Brown after he recorded one against the Bears on Jan. 30, 2015; Wong had three against Union in his career.
• Wong is the Quinnipiac Division I leader with four career hat tricks while Smith's three-goal night tied Ben Nelson for second with three hat tricks.
• Landon Smith became the 39th player all-time and the 24th in Quinnipiac's Division I era to reach 100 career points with a two-point weekend against Northeastern.
• Smith is one of 13 active players in NCAA Division I hockey with 100 career points while his 109 career points rank fifth, his 43 career goals rank tied for ninth and his 66 career assists rank tied for seventh.
 
THE CHASE IS ON
• Junior Captain Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) checks-in with five goals and eight assists for 13 points this season.
• Priskie leads Quinnipiac in scoring in ECAC Hockey games to date, logging eight points in 11 games on the strength of three goals and five assists.
• Priskie also leads the team in power play goals (3) and power play points (6) for the year.
• Priskie also leads the team in goals-per-shots-on-goal at 14.7%.
• Priskie is one of 17 defensemen in the country to score five goals to date and also ranks eighth in power play goals (3) by blueliners.
 
TUF ENUF
• Freshman Odeen Tufto currently leads Quinnipiac in assists (16) and points (20).
• Tufto's impressive freshman campaign has featured a five-game scoring streak through the first five games of the season.
• Tufto's scoring streak was the longest for a freshman to start his collegiate career since Chase Priskie tallied a point in six-straight games in 2014.
• Tufto leads the team in assists in league games (7).
• Tufto leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with 16 assists and ranks tied for third with 20 points.
• Tufto also leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with six multiple-point games.
• Additionally, Tufto's eight points when trailing and 10 points on the road also lead all freshman skaters.
• The first-year Bobcats has tallied a point in 13 of Quinnipiac's 21 games, in which the Bobcats have compiled a 6-6-1 record.
• Against Vermont, Tufto scored twice, including the overtime game-winner in a 3-2 win at home. The last Quinnipiac freshman to score an overtime game-winning goal was Ben Nelson against Army on Jan. 28, 2005.

Mac ATTACK
• Senior Tanner MacMaster checks in with eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 19 games this season.
•MacMaster had a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17.
• MacMaster is coming off a junior season in which he scored a career-high eight goals, while also picking up 11 assists for 19 points in 32 games.
• For his career, MacMaster has accumulated 25 goals and 42 assists for 67 points.
 
FINDING HIS STRIDE
• John Furgele, who joined Quinnipiac last season and sat out as a transfer from New Hampshire, was recently announced as an assistant captain, along with junior Scott Davidson.
• After a two-assist night against Colgate on Friday, Jan. 5, Furgele now has a goal and seven assists to date.
 
BO KNOWS
• With his overtime game-winner against Colgate on Friday, Jan. 5, Bo Pieper now has three goals in his last four games and four goals in his last seven.
• For the year, Peiper has tallied five goals and four assists for nine points.
• Bo Pieper's goal at Princeton was his second of the season and first since Oct. 8 against Boston University.
• Pieper also picked up an assist on Whelan's goal for his first multiple-point game since Game 3 of last year's ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal-clinching win at St. Lawrence on Mar. 12, 2017.
• Pieper has come on as of late, totaling a goal and three assists in 11 ECAC Hockey games.
• Pieper is currently the Bobcats' face-off leader, winning 56.3% (231-179) of his draws this season.
• Against Dartmouth, Pieper won 22-of-31 face-offs.
• The senior wing had a break-out year in 2016-17 after leading the team with 13 goals, while adding 12 assists for 25 points.
 
WHELAN'S WAY
• Alex Whelan is enjoying a great week with three goals in his last two games. Whelan scored against UConn on Jan. 2 and then added two more against Colgate on Friday, Jan. 5. 
• Whelan now leads Quinnipiac with nine goals while also adding two assists for 11 points to date.
• To date, Whelan leads Quinnipiac with eight goals on the road.

Bandits also won the Western Canada Cup Championship in 2017 ...  In 2016-17, he scored six goals and assisted on 16 more for 22 points in 19 games played ... In 2015-16, he scored 14 goals and converted on 38 assists for 52 points in 55 games ... In all, he scored 20 goals and tallied 54 assists for 74 points in 74 career games in the AJHL ... Born in Hamden, Connecticut ... Son of Brian and Theresa O'Connor '82 ... Has two brothers, John and Pat '15 ... Attended Hamden High School and Westminster Prep ... His grandfather, Ralph O'Connor, was the Quinnipiac College men's ice hockey head coach for the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons ... His father, Brian, was selected with the 209th overall pick of the 1978 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues after winning a NCAA National Championship with Boston University in 1978.

Became the first freshman since Ben Nelson against Army on Jan. 28,  2005 to score an overtime game-winner, which he did against Vermont on Oct. 14 ... Had a goal and an assist in Quinnipiac's 6-4 win at No. 16 Northeastern on Oct. 20 ... Was featured with the No. 9 play on ESPN's SportsCenter on Friday, Oct. 20 for his goal against Northeastern ... Had two assists, including the set-up helper on Alex Whalen's game-winning goal, in a 3-2 overtime win at No. 16 Northeastern ... Had two assists in a 5-3 loss at RPI on Nov. 10 ... Stopped 24 of 26 shots-on-goal in a 3-2 overtime win at No. 16 Northeastern on Oct. 21 ... Stopped all 22 of Brown's shots-on-goal for his first shutout of the season, and second of his career ... Posted his second-straight shutout with a 30-save performance against Yale on Nov. 18 ... Picked up his fifth win of the season with a 21-save performance at Princeton on Nov. 28 ... Recorded 27 saves in his third shutout of the season in a 0-0 tie against Dartmouth on Dec. 2 .... Had 21 saves for his fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win at UConn on Jan. 2 ...
