Henningson Gets Opportunity in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have signed former Quinnipiac defenseman Dan Henningson to a professional try-out (PTO).

Henningson, 27, shows three points (1g-2a) in 23 games with the ECHL's Chicago Express. The Edmonton, Alberta native has also appeared in five contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, tallying an assist on Dec. 17 against Norfolk.

The defenseman has 15 games of AHL experience under his belt with the Lake Erie Monsters (2008-09) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (2011-12).

Last season, Henningson appeared in 68 tilts for the Wheeling Nailers, recording 18 points (5g-13a). The 27 year-old also paced all Nailers d-men and tied for sixth best among all skaters in the ECHL with a plus/minus rating of +19.
