HAMDEN — Protect and produce.
It’s a formula that is working nicely for the Quinnipiac
men’s hockey defensive corps.
Since last season, the Bobcats have seen a sharp rise in point
production from their defensemen, particularly in goals scored. A
year ago, Quinnipiac defensemen accounted for 11 goals in 38 games.
This winter, over the past 11 games, the defenders have 12
goals.
The Bobcats, who play host to Harvard (tonight at 7) and Dartmouth
(Saturday, 7 p.m.) this weekend at High Point Solutions Arena, are
6-2-3 in that span.
