Team Notes: Quinnipiac Opens League Play at Princeton
ECAC Hockey Opener
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team opens its ECAC Hockey
schedule at Princeton on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at Hobey Baker
Memorial Rink in Princeton, N.J.

The Last Time The Bobcats Were On The Ice
Quinnipiac split a weekend series at Robert Morris on Oct. 21-22,
losing the first game, 5-4, to halt a five-game winning streak
before responding with a 4-1 win on Saturday night.
All-Time Against Princeton
Quinnipiac is 5-8-1 all-time against Princeton. The Bobcats and
Tigers have been paired as travel partners within the ECAC Hockey
ranks since QU joined the league in 2005. After winning four its
first six games against the Tigers, they have managed just one win
in their last eight meetings against Princeton.
Scouting The Tigers
Long-time St. Lawrence assistant Bob Prier accepted his first head
coaching position at Princeton this summer. Princeton opened play
this weekend, tying nationally-ranked Yale, 2-2, before falling to
Brown, 3-2, on the following night. Michael Sdao scored in both
games for the Tigers, while Jack Berger had two assists. Sean Bonar
stopped 28 of 30 against Yale for the tie while Mike Condon had 23
saves in Princeton's one-goal loss to Brown.
The Last Time They Met
Quinnipiac and Princeton tied, 1-1, in their last meeting on Jan.
3, 2011, at Hobey Baker Rink. Jeremy Langlois scored
the Bobcats' only goal while Derrick Pallis accounted for
Princeton's. Eric Hartzell stopped 34 of Princeton's
35 shots in the game.
Halfway There
Quinnipiac has scored four goals in seven straight games, the
longest since the 2009-10 team accomplished the same feat. The
Quinnipiac record for most consecutive games with four or more
goals is 14, set by the 1999-2000 team. The 2011-12 Bobcats are the
seventh team in program history to post seven straight games with
four or more goals.

Peca Named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week
Peca, in his first season at Quinnipiac, helped the Bobcats to a
2-1-0 week after scoring in each of Quinnipiac's three games and
also picking up an assist in the Bobcats win against Bentley. For
the year, Peca has totaled three goals and five assists for eight
points. He ranks second in total points among all rookies in NCAA
Division I men's ice hockey and tied for 4th in points per game
(1.00). Peca is the second Bobcats player to earn weekly ECAC
Hockey honors after Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) was named the
ECAC Hockey Player of the Week on Oct. 7, 2011. Point
StreakJeremy Langlois has tallied a point in each of Quinnipiac's
first eight games. It marks the longest season-opening streak since
Eric Lampe had a point in the first eight games of the 2009
season.
Battled Test
Quinnipiac had a five-game winning streak stopped with a 5-4 loss
to Robert Morris, but were able to savage a split with the
Colonials. In a 10-day stretch, Quinnipiac posted a 5-1-0 record
with wins against Bentley, Canisius, Holy Cross and RMU.
Cracking The Top 20
Quinnipiac earned the No. 20 spot in the latest USCHO.com Division
I poll, its first ranking since Jan. 17, 2010.
INCH Power Rankings
The Bobcats also landed in the No. 18 spot in the INCH Power
Rankings.
Great Start Clarkie
Goalie Dan Clarke is currently 4-1-0 with a .929 save
percentage and a 1.39 goals against average. Clarke has allowed
just three goals in his last 199 minutes in net over his last four
appearances, which also included a 14-save, 4-0 shutout of Canisius
on Oct. 16.
Top Line
The line of Langlois, Peca and Scott Zurevinski has
combined for 12 of Quinnipiac's 35 goals and seven of the Bobcats'
10 power-play goals.
Keep Rolling Those Two Lines
The Bobcats' second line of Connor and Kellen
Jones and Russell Goodman have accounted for
seven goals and 13 assists. Connor is second in scoring (3-7-10),
just ahead of Kellen (3-5-8).
