Team Notes: Quinnipiac Travels to Union and RPI for Pivotal Weekend Series
The Capital District
Quinnipiac will head to the Capital District to take on
nationally-ranked Union and RPI this weekend. The Bobcats, in the
hunt for home ice in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament, will play
No. 5/7 Union on Friday, Feb. 25 at Messa Rink at 7 p.m. before
heading to Troy, N.Y. to take on No. 13/14 Rensselaer Polytecnic
Institute on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. at the Houston Field

Playoff Picture
Quinnipiac (17 pts.) is currently tied for seventh place with
Clarkson (17) heading into the final weekend of the ECAC Hockey
Regular Season. With the ECAC Hockey Championships First Round
series set to kick-off next weekend, the only thing left to do is
figure out where they'll be played. First-place Union (33) and
second-place Yale (32) have locked up first-round byes and will be
home for the quarterfinals. Dartmouth (24), Cornell (24), RPI (23)
and Princeton (22) have also secured home ice for the first round.
Dartmouth needs four points this weekend, and Cornell would need
three, to fill-out the top four spots and receive a first-round
bye, while RPI and Princeton can finish anywhere from third to
sixth. Clarkson can grab home ice for the first round with one
point this weekend, while the Bobcats would need two. Brown and St.
Lawrence can also jockey for position this weekend while Harvard
and Colgate will travel for the first round.
