Team Notes: Bobcats Host Bentley
Bobcats and Falcons
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team will play its fourth game in
seven days when it hosts Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at
the High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in
Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac, owners of a four-game winning streak, is
4-1-0 on the season while Bentley is currently 0-3-0 for the
year.

The Last Time The Bobcats Were On The Ice
Quinnipiac won its fourth straight game with a 4-0 shutout against
Canisius on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011. The Bobcats used a pair of goals
from Spencer Heichman and a 14-save shutout from Dan
Clarke in the win. Scott Zurevinski had two assists
in the game.
All-Time Against Bentley
Quinnipiac has squared-off against Bentley more than any other
program in the Bobcats' history. Quinnipiac is 25-2-1 all-time
against Bentley at the Division I level and 29-19-2 all-time,
dating back to their first meeting during the 1976-77 season.
Quinnpiac has won nine straight games and hold an 10-0-1 mark in
their last 11 meetings. The Bobcats are also 11-1-0 all-time at the
Division I level on their home ice including a 4-0-0 mark at the TD
Bank Sports Center. In their last five meetings, Quinnipiac has
outscored Bentley, 25-4. Quinnipiac's win against Bentley, on Oct.
16, 2007, was the 400th win in program history.
Scouting The Falcons
Bentley is still searching for its first win of the year after
losing its first three games of the 2011-12 season. Bentley dropped
both games of a season-opening weekend series at Michigan (5-1 and
4-1) before dropping a 5-3 decision at UMass on Friday, Oct. 14.
Alex Grieve leads the Falcons with two goals, while Justin
Breton has team-high three assists.
The Last Time They Met
Three different Bobcats scored in Quinnipiac's 3-2 win against
Bentley on Oct. 15, 2010. Clay Harvey, Connor
Jones and Russell Goodman all found the back of the
net, while Kellen Jones had a pair of assists. The
Bobcats held a 3-0 lead before goals from Bentley's Aaron Stonacek
and Mike Switzer trimmed the Bobcats lead inside the final 10
minutes of play. Dan Clarke recorded 23 saves in the win while Kyle
Mack made 38 saves for Bentley.
Hat Trick Facts
Jeremy Langlois' natural hat trick against Canisius on Oct. 15 was
the first at Quinnipiac since Mike Atkinson scored three straight
against Clarkson on Nov. 6, 2009.
Four-Point Night
Langlois added an assist for the first four-point game
since Loren Barron (Glendora, Calif.) did it against
Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 30, 2010.
Rare Feat
The Bobcats, as a team, tied a program record with four power-play
goals against Canisius on Oct. 15. Quinnipiac went 4-for-8 with the
man-advantage in the game.

Quinnipiac's four-straight victories mark the first four-game
winning streak since the 2009-10 season when the Bobcats opened the
year at 12-1.
Clarke's Bark
Dan Clarke recorded his fifth career shutout with a 14-save effort
against Canisius on Sunday, Oct. 16. Bud Fisher's nine shutouts are
the all-time Quinnipiac record.
The Bobcats At The Bank
Quinnipiac is 50-30-9 (.599) in 89 games at the TD Bank Sports
Center, since its first game, a 7-0 win against Holy Cross, on Jan.
28, 2007. Quinnipiac's 100th Men's Ice Hockey Game at the TD Bank
Sports Center will fall on Feb. 3, 2012 against Harvard.
Head Coach Rand Pecknold
Rand Pecknold enters his 18th year at Quinnipiac ranked 21st among
all active NCAA Division I coaches and 58th all-time in career
wins (321). His career winning percentage (.586, 321-217-55) ranks
87th all-time.
