Bobcats, Brown Bring Plenty of Mystery
HAMDEN — If you’re struggling
to get a read on the Quinnipiac men’s hockey team for this
weekend’s ECAC first-round series with Brown, join the
club.
The Bobcats regular season stretch run, for better or worse, was
littered with ties — five in the final eight games, seven in
the last 14. And while a tie is better than a loss, consider
Quinnipiac (13-13-8) hasn’t won a game since Jan. 28 either,
going 0-3-5 to finish the season.
Still, Quinnipiac coach Rand Pecknold liked how his team responded
at Union and Rensselaer last weekend to clinch home ice against
Brown. Both nationally-ranked opponents were playing for big stakes
as well; Union was looking to clinch the regular-season title, RPI
in the hunt for a first-round bye.
