Lampe Earns Monthly Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. - Las Vegas Wranglers forward Eric Lampe, a former Quinnipiac standout, is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for October.

Lampe led the league in October with 10 goals and 13 points, and was tied for second with five power-play points, as the Wranglers went 4-3-1 in the opening month of the ECHL season.

The 25-year-old scored goals in six games during the month of October, including two multi-goal games. He scored four goals and added two assists, setting new team records for goals and points in a game, in a 9-3 win over Colorado on Oct. 28, the ECHL's best single-game performance so far this season. He also scored two goals in a 3-2 win over Bakersfield on Oct. 22, and had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to Colorado on Oct. 27.

A native of Madison, Wisc., Lampe was named ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30. He leads the league with 11 goals, 15 points and 37 shots, and is tied for second with six power-play points.

Lampe has 50 points in 48 career ECHL games with Florida, Elmira and Las Vegas, and last season, he won the Fastest Skater competition at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic. He has also seen action in 24 AHL games with Syracuse, scoring four points (2g-2a).

Lampe graduated from Qunnipiac, where he totaled 102 points (47g-55a) in 150 games.
