Lampe Named ECHL Player of Week
PRINCETON, N.J. - Former Quinnipiac standout Eric Lampe of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 24-30.
The 25-year-old scored six goals and added three assists as Las Vegas went 2-2-0 over a four game stretch. Lampe recorded the first of consecutive multi-point games in a 5-3 loss to Colorado on Thursday, tallying a goal and an assist. He followed that on Friday with a four goal, two assist performance as the Wranglers defeated the Eagles 9-3.
Lampe, who scored the game-winning goal, set new Wranglers team records for goals and points in a game. On Saturday, Lampe added a power play goal to cap a nine point week, as Las Vegas defeated Bakersfield 4-1.
A native of Madison, Wisc., Lampe leads the ECHL with 13 points and 10 goals. His four-goal game marks the highest single game performance in the league this season.
Lampe has 48 points (27g-21a) in 47 career ECHL games with Florida, Elmira and Las Vegas, and last season, won the Fastest Skater competition at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic. He also has seen action in 24 AHL games with Syracuse, scoring four points (2g-2a).
Lampe graduated from Quinnipiac, where he totaled 102 points (47g-55a) in 150 games.
