Team Notes: Quinnipiac Hosts Dartmouth, Harvard

Back To The Bank
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team will host Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 19 and Harvard on Saturday, Nov. 20, both at 7 p.m., at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac is currently 5-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in ECAC Hockey play. Dartmouth comes to Hamden with a record of 3-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in ECAC Hockey play and currently sit in a tie for second place, with Union, in the league standings. Harvard is 2-2-0 overall and in ECAC Hockey action, tied for fourth place with four other teams.

Both games this weekend will be available via live videostream from the Bobcat Channel, accessible at www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com. In addition, a live audio feed featuring the "Voice of the Bobcats" Bill Schweizer will also be available. Todd Carroll will have the color commentary against Dartmouth, available on WQUN AM 1220 and WPOP 1410 AM, while former 10-year NHL veteran Chris Kotsopoulos will have the call against Harvard. Live statistics will also be available.

All-Time Against Dartmouth
Quinnipiac holds an 8-5-1 record in 14 meetings all-time against Dartmouth, dating back to their first meeting on Oct. 30, 2004. Last season, Quinnipiac and the Big Green split the regular-season series, with the home team winning in both cases. The two teams squared off in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament, with the Bobcats winning the first and third games to advance to the quarterfinal round. Quinnipiac is 6-2-0 at home all-time against Dartmouth, and 5-2-0 at the TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats had won four straight on their home ice before a 6-3 loss in the second game of last years playoff series.

Scouting Dartmouth College
Dartmouth is 3-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in ECAC Hockey following a weekend sweep at Clarkson (7-1) and St. Lawrence (6-1) last weekend. 10 different Big Green skaters scored on the weekend while James Mello stopped 51 of 53 shots on goal combined over the two games in net. For the year, Mello is 2-0-1 with a .980 save percentage and a 0.65 goals-against average. Offensively, Dartmouth is led by Matt Lindblad with a team-high six points on two goals and  a team-leading four assists. 14 different players have scored for Dartmouth this year, while Scott Fleming, Dustin Walsh, Mike Keenan and Jason Bourgea have all scored multiple times.

All-Time Against Harvard
Quinnipiac is 4-7-2 in 13 games against Harvard, dating back to the first match-up between the two teams on Nov. 4, 2005. Quinnipiac won that game, 5-2 at the Northford Ice Pavilion, and failed to pick-up a W in the next six games against the Crimson (0-4-2). The Bobcats are undefeated against Harvard (3-0-2) all-time on their home ice, including a 2-0-2 mark at the TD Bank Sports Center. The two teams have traded wins in their last six meetings, which included Quinnipiac's only win at the Bright Hockey Center - a 7-4 victory in the second game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals in 2008.

Scouting Harvard University
Harvard is currently 2-2-0 overall and in ECAC Hockey play with a pair of losses book-ending a pair of wins. This past weekend, the Crimson defeated St. Lawrence, 4-2, before losing to Clarkson, 3-1. Kyle Richter has logged all but two minutes in goal for Harvard this season, posting a 2-2-0 mark with a .947 save percentage and a 1.76 goals-against average. Offensively, Alex Killorn leads Harvard with two goals and three assists while brothers Michael and Danny Biega have each accounted for a goal and two assists.

More Jones Brother Stats!!
Connor Jones put up two points last weekend with a goal in the Bobcats' loss to Cornell and their win against Colgate. The first-year skater is tied for the team lead with seven points and is one of four players with a team-high three goals. Twin brother Kellen isn't far behind with three goals and three assists for six points.

The Captain
Junior captain Scott Zurevinski turned in Quinnipiac's third two-goal game with a pair of markers in Quinnipiac's 3-1 win against Colgate on Saturday night. Zurevinski now has three goals and two assists for five points in 10 games.

Nice Jobs In Goal, EH?
Eric Hartzell posted his second career 30-save game when he blocked 30 of Colgate's 31 shots on goal in Quinnipiac's 3-1 win against the Raiders on Saturday. Hartzell is now 2-0-0 with a .951 save percentage and a 1.34 goals-against average in two starts this season. For his career, he is 6-2-0 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.21 GAA.

For The Stat Hungry
Quinnipiac has never had its first three players to score multiple goals in a game do so in the same period of each respective game...until now. Scott Zurevinski scored twice in the second period against Colgate, Kellen Jones scored twice in the third period against Holy Cross and Clay Harvey scored twice in the second period against Brown.

Really Impressive
Quinnipiac is 49-0-5 in its last 54 games in which it has led heading into the third period. It's last loss when leading after two periods came on March 17, 2007 against Clarkson in the ECAC Hockey Championship.

At The Bank
Quinnipiac is 40-23-7 (.621) in 70 games all-time at the TD Bank Sports Center.
