Cashman Joins Black Wings
Red Wing, Minnesota, native Reid Cashman, a former Quinnipiac standout, has signed a contract with the Black Wings of EHC Linz (Austria) for the 2010-11 season, the team announced.
Cashman, who will play in Europe for the first time in his professional career, spent the 2009-10 campaign with the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones and the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Competing in his third professional season in 2009-10, Cashman played 18 regular-season and 14 post-season contests with Cincinnati. He amassed 19 points, including one goal, during regular-season play and chipped in seven points, including two goals, during the Cyclones’ run to the Kelly Cup title.
Cashman scored four times and set up eight goals in 37 games with the Admirals of the AHL.
The six-foot-two, 215 pound defenseman played four seasons at Quinnipiac, earning four varsity letters and picking up 23 goals and 125 assists for 148 points in 151 games.
