Sorteberg Traded to Utah
BOISE, Idaho – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired former Quinnipiac defenseman Matt Sorteberg as part of a three-player trade.
The Grizzlies also acquired defenseman Kyle Radke, and sent
Dustin Friesen to Idaho.
The Grizzlies and Steelheads face-off tonight at 7:10 p.m.,
however none of the players in the trade will be dressing for their
new teams.
“We wanted to get a little deeper on the backend and we are
excited to add two solid defensemen in Matt and Kyle,” said
Colley. “It’s a hard day to say goodbye to Dustin, but
at the end, we had to do what’s best for our hockey club as a
whole.”
Sorteberg, a rookie, has a plus-seven on the year while adding one
goal and one assist in 20 games.
The two players will make their Utah debuts Friday and Saturday in
Stockton.
