Quinnipiac Visits Fairfield Country Day School
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey
team travel to Fairfield, Conn. to skate with the 1st and 2nd grade
and 6th through 8th grade students at Fairfield Country Day School.
The Bobcats skated as a team in a series of 4-on-4 games on FCDS's
outdoor rink before the school's 1st and 2nd grade students
hit-the-ice.
Senior captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin split-up the group of 30-plus
youth hockey players into groups to play in a three mini-games
across the school's ice. Senior assistant captain Brandon Wong was
also part of the first wave of Bobcats on the ice, as was senior
Greg Holt. The goalies for the first session were Eric Hartzell and
Mathieu Cadieux, who pulled double-duty when he skated with the
second group. Scott Zurevinski, Reese Rolheiser, Jeremy Langlois,
Brett Dickinson, Mike Glaicar, Loren Barron, Ben Arnt and Ben
Ketchum were also on hand for the first game. Boomer the Bobcat and
Zach Davies were also on the ice for Quinnipiac.
"This was just a great day," Beaudoin said. "It was a lot of fun
skating outside, the weather was great and the kids had a great
time. I had a lot of fun today - I hope the kids did too!"
Senior assistant captain Mike Atkinson headed-up the second wave
of players to take the ice at the outdoor rink. FCDS's 6th through
8th grade students were on the ice for the mini-games for the the
second session. Atkinson was joined by D'ArcyOakes, Mike Dalhuisen,
Clay Harvey, Spencer Heichman and Bobby Tyson. Cadieux was in goal
again, joined by Pat McGann. Manager Jake Whitting was also
included in the group.
